Sharmake Diriye
Executive Director
Sharmake is the Executive Director of Reviving the Ummah’s Heritage (RUH) and a PhD student in Epidemiology at The Ohio State University. He holds a master’s degree in Epidemiology and specializes in cancer research, mental health, and substance misuse prevention. Through RUH, he has led efforts to provide scholarships, mentorship, and culturally tailored programs that empower Somali youth and promote community well-being.

Hafsa Ahmed
Deputy Director
Hafsa supports the organization’s mission to uplift the community through education, mental health advocacy, and social development. With experience in nonprofit leadership, program coordination, and community engagement, she is passionate about creating resources and opportunities that empower immigrant and refugee families to thrive.

Mohamed Hareed
Treasurer
Hareed is an accomplished entrepreneur with a strong background in logistics and supply chain management. He brings to the team both business acumen and financial discipline, having spent years simplifying operations, managing budgets, and developing efficient processes. He is passionate about community impact and is committed to using his entrepreneurial talents to help the organization's mission and long-term viability.

Sahro Abdul
Outreach Coordinator
Sahro is a devoted nurse with extensive experience in healthcare and community service. She brings compassion and professionalism to her role as Outreach Coordinator, having previously supported patients and families via advocacy, education, and direct treatment. Sahro plans to establish relationships, expand partnerships, and connect the community to the nonprofit's services and resources. She is committed to advancing the RUH's mission through effective outreach and collaboration.

Nasrein Sheikhyusuf
Communicator Coordinator
Nasrein has a unique experience in both technology and nursing, combining excellent communication skills with a desire to serve. She brings great academic preparation, excitement, and a commitment to amplifying the organization's goal and interacting with the community in meaningful ways. Nasrein, who is eager to apply new ideas and innovation, will be in charge of outreach, social media presence, and internal communications.

Zainab Abdul
Events Coordinator
Zainab is a licensed social worker with experience in mental health counseling and care coordination services. One of the later members of the organization that engages group members in organizational and collective participation. As someone who worked directly with the Somali population in the mental health field, the RUH mission statement inspires my membership. Other aspects include bridging cultural and generational gaps between community members while implementing educational interventions.
